I've created 6 different kits using my shibori dyed indigo in collaboration with Lana Norton at Quilt 'n Things Fiber Arts. Lana and I worked together selecting fabrics from her collection of batiks to coordinate with some of my shibori dyed cottons. Using thread that I pull off my Arashi Shibori poles I stitched abstract designs on the tops with sashiko inspired stitches.
This month I'll be offering two classes at Quilt 'n Things to teach students how to stitch, give a bit of history on shibori and sashiko and introduce some of my design concepts to lead students to create their own unique designs. The shop is located at 2411 Honolulu Ave. Montrose, CA 91020, (818) 957-2287.
The classes are each $75 and include the pillow top kit (coming soon for sale to my website.) You can register on line at the Quilt 'n Things link above, or by phoning the shop.
On Saturday night I'll be bringing some of my latest batch of kombucha (beet, strawberry, mango) to share as we sip & stitch. Hope you'll join me!
