Portraiture

Many threads, stitched into a single presence.

Portraiture in my practice starts with a question: what happens to a face when it passes through other hands? I print, paint and stitch into portraits, including images made by other artists and materials I already have, so each piece becomes a layered record of who looked, who made and who remembered. The work is collaborative at heart, and like a mended garment, it shows its repairs.
