The rich golden interior of a church in Treixedo, Portugal inspired this pattern, with references to the architectural floor plan and the ornate interior decorations. I went a bit further than  usual  creating a new pattern from my main motif. After making the floorplan-inspired blue  pattern, I did a secondary outlining pattern to further define the appearance of a grid. In the background I used a series of repeating gradients that highlight the negative space between the primary design elements. All this is meant to imply space dimension.
