Workshops

Bring your hands and your attention. Leave with something transformed.

Workshops are where the practice becomes shared. Some of what I teach came to me the way most inherited things do — quietly, through the hands. I learned to stitch from my grannies, absorbing the way a needle is held and the rhythm of a running stitch long before anyone called it teaching. Other knowledge I sought out deliberately: my dye technique comes from studying with some of today's modern master dyers, carrying their craft forward into my own hands.

Both paths end up in the same place — a habit of making and remaking rather than replacing. Whether we're mending, stitching, or working a vat of indigo, this is not mundane technique for its own sake. It is transformation, a celebration of making and remaking, a way of keeping memories alive and creating new ones. Every piece we finish together is a small act of resistance against disposability, and an act of beauty.
